RE: AudiFest '99

Pikes Peak sounds great to me, but I'm biased since I live in Colorado.
Would probably drive anywhere west of here, but definitely not east of the
Mississippi (too many bad memories of speed enforcement in eastern states).

Okay folks, it's that time to start thinking of AudiFest again. To start the
discussion, we need to consider a big question:

- Do we have it again at Pike's Peak? Or do we have it elsewhere?

- If elsewhere... where? What else is convenient for the whole USA (and
anyone else in the world that wants to show up...)?

- Should we split AudiFest up into AudiFest East, AudiFest Central, and
AudiFest West, or just East and West? Or keep it as one big event?

I bring this up because I've gotten some feedback (and to some degree, I
might fall into the same category) from some folks that they might not
want/can't make it to Pike's Peak, but would still love to do something, if
it was more "local" (i.e. driveable from the East Coast etc.).

I know that this might undermine the original spirit of AudiFest, but in
some ways, it might actually grow the concept. There might be the
possibility that more folks would show up to each coastal (and central, if
there is enough interest in such) event rather than one big one. (I
certainly would hate to see AudiFest die a slow death due to lack of
participation and enthusiasm...)

So... what say y'all?

For those outside the U.S., please pardon the open forum. If we had an
AudiFest list (still) set up, we'd certainly use it. (BTW, can anyone host
such a list?) For now, please bear with us... thanks.

OH... and please CC: me on any feedback, since I am still unsubbed from the
q-list... just lurking right now... :-)

Thanks.
