Re: HELP- Broken Lug!!! Winter Driving Event Tomorrow!!!

Sure you can drive with three lugs, just for how long? I would drill out
the CENTER of the bolt and get an easy out and remove it. Or take it to a
tire place and watch them do it. Alden makes a nice tool with the drill
bit and the easy out in one piece. Since it's winter and if you'll be one
snow you might get away with it if it's a rear wheel. Front wheels turn
and place more stress on the bolts.

My wife's 90Q has the driver's rear wheel with three lugs because Discount
Tire stripped one of the hub holes during the last complimentary rotation.
Actually, they cross-threaded two of them but I managed to chase one of
them out. So while I'm trying to get them to come clean (and they're
refusing), she's driving with three lugs. I check the torque very night -
it's been holding fine. On a front wheel or during the summer, this would
be really (even more) dangerous/foolish/stupid/etc...

Now before you all crucify me for using Discount Tire, I've been to this DT
before and watched them and the guy I talked to had a clue, etc, etc,
etc... <sigh>
