Re: How do I get more power from a 12V engine

<< Let me add a little bit to this:
 If you build them...
And don't charge an obscene amount for them...
*then* the Audi world will come.

There was a $2000 supercharger kit.

... first off i think im just going to do the 12VDC supercharger now to much
trouble to make several different ones price will not be even close to 2k i am
making these to be affordable and Better than the competition..

There's the $300 milling job for the throttle body.

i have been boring and milling TBs for years now even going to make larger
plates for TB when i get a chance......

There's the fabled TAP engine mods--available for every car but yours.
There's the fabled Vortrag engine mods--at last check, still working out
 driveability issues.

If you can make a blower that:
 a) doesn't cause weird ECU-related side-effects
 b) doesn't blow up the transmission, head gaskets, or top end
 c) doesn't cost more than its weight in gold
 d) actually works *well*

i plan to use it myself i have a 77 931 porsche , 77 scirocco, 81 jetta and
91 passat
i plan to have one on every car.
i have already been testing airflow etc. but have not mounted this unit yet im
making a blow off valve to go along with it. I have also have a customer that
has a 93 325i that plans to test it on. plans are to have the switch
progressive so if driving in town you will not use the supercharger but if
need be just mash the pedal down and the charger kicks in and triggers the
Fuel enrichment at the same time.

*then* you'll have my business--and only after I've seen it work with my
own two eyes. It's very hard to tune the 12v V6; it's got a high
compression ratio, weak head gaskets, 4 or 5 substantially different ECU
versions (that I know of...3 ECU's in the 90/Cabriolet, at least 3 in
 the 100 series, one for the A4, 1 or 2 for the A6, ...)
...and very few cost-effective mods. Though there are 4 (oh wait, now
 5) Audi tuners with "pending" V6 mods...the only one that's ever made it
to production was the throttle body--so you can mail bits of your engine
halfway across the country to have a 10-minute $40 milling job done in 2
 days for $300.

When you say you're "playing with" 10 turbines--have you put any of them
on an engine yet? In a car? Has the car been driven? Redlined? Or
does "playing" involve an old rag and a wrinkled picture of a
 10-year-old car?

hahaha ...

Let us know when it's done.

i sure will it will be posted on my web page as well
