Eletrical gremlins strike again

For the last week or two my 88 Ur quattro has been displaying the oil
pressure warning every time that the revs pass 5000. Today I got around to
the task of tracking down the problem, so checked (once again) that the oil
was at the right level and took the car out to warm it up. Back in my drive
with everything at the correct temperature I ran though the diagnostics for
the oil pressure sender. It failed 4 of the five checks and was borderline
on the fifth so I drove to Centurion Audi and ordered a new sender (GBP60+
and only one on Audi's parts inventory at Milton Keynes).
Guess what I haven't seen since I ordered the part? That's right - the oil
pressure light. I can run the car to the rev limiter in 3rd & 4th gears
without seeing the thing now.

Hmmm... makes you think doesn't it..
