A6Q tran oil pan
Hello all,
I have recently purchased a 97 A6Q and just noticed that the
transmission pan was wet with oil. Since it was time for the 15k check
up I took it in and had an Audi dealership do the service. When I picked
up the car they said I needed an new transmission oil pan and gasket
because there was a dent on the pan and that it wasn't under warranty
because of the dent. They mechanic said that the oil pick ups are a
little further back and that it could possibly starve the transmission.
I said I want to look at it before I agreed to have the pan replaced. I
just looked at the pan and the dent is in the front center of the pan
about 1/4max deep over a diameter of no more than 2 inches. Can this
dent really cause oil starvation in the transmission? The dent is not
deeper that the oil plug in the center of the transmission pan.
Thanks
Frank
