Anyway, Mr. Pisetschrieder (BMW's MD) has almost used up his bonus points
IMO, and the MD of Rover (another ex-BMW guy) has resigned recently. Wonder
what happens next. I don't suppose that, Mr. P's love for all things
English notwithstanding, this black hole situation can continue much longer.
I really don't think personally that Rover can ever recover their brand
identity, no matter how hard BMW tries. The bad rep from the '70s- the
period of no quality control, poor development and endless strikes-
combined with their characterless Honda period in the '80s have killed
Rover off in the public's eyes.
Shame, because the 75 seemed to be on the right track designwise.
At least they understand the value of quality control at BMW...
