RE: S4/S6 model Year differences

Xenon can be HID or incandesent lighting.

Ahigh intensity arc dischatges through xenon gas contained in a tube -no
filament. Resistant to shock. High color temp, etc. These are the blue
lights.

Incandesent xenon bulbs have filaments and instead of a halogen gas, they
contain xenon. The halogen or xenon is to allow for a pure environment to
allow for the redeposition of the vaporized filament material back on to
the filament without impurities. Lasts longer than non types.

There are I.X. bulbs out there that try to mimic HID's, but they are no
substitute. They may be nice for a good look, but not much else.

I can say that I have used xenon incandesent bulbs and they are a little
whiter and brighter than halogens.

I hope this clarifies the issue once and for all.
