re: Salvage Value
Andrew,
I believe only your own insurance company can force you to total your
car. The other party's insurance have to pay for the repairs if you insist you
won't allow them to total it. Don't let them do it, until you really know you
have to!!
I could be wrong, but check it out (outside the q-list!).

Well the morons at the other guy's insurance company called and they want to
total my UrQ. Just to recap, some guy hit my parked car in a snow storm in
the left rear tailight. They haven't given me a cash value yet but the woman
was saying something about subtracting the salvage value and you get to keep
the car. Really, what a rocket scientist she is. What can I do to fight
this. This is a real injustice that someone can hit your car and leave you
with a write-off.
The only good thing is that I just moved and titled the car in CO so I doubt
that a NY salavage would find its way onto my new title here. I HOPE. Anyone
have any thoughts please respond directly. Thanks.
