UI rears its ugly head again-

Was I the only one who saw Dateline last night?

The story was on a new round of unintended acceleration. It started
with 'Stone Phillips' describing the 80's debacle and the end result
was finding the driver's were mashing the wrong pedal (duh).

The vehicles in question were Fords. In short (pun?) the problem is in
the cruise control. When a wire is grounded, the throttle goes to wide
open.

The whole time, I afraid Audi was going to be mentioned! Audi was
mentioned, but only in passing when describing several states that had
found several manufacturers liable for UI.

Remember, Dateline was the show that ignited fuel to explode the
'saddle bag' tanks an Chevys.
