Re: idle stabilization valve(deacel valve)



Bill Hi from Greece,

When I had to clean the ISV on my RS2 the procedure I followed was:
1: Unplug the electrical connection,
2. With a rachet and a long extension unscrew the retaining circlips holding
the three hoses attached to the ISV valve (one at each side, one
underneath).
3. Take the ISV valve out of the round elastic base attached on the engine.

4. Spay liberal amount of carburator cleaned in the holes of the ISV.
5. Since you have the ISV out spray some electric contacts cleaner on the
electric socket (male and female)

6. Leave the ISV valve to dry, repeat spraying and leave to dry again.
7. Reverse procedure

I has helped me a lot but I do not know whether the precedure will be
exactly the same for your car.
