Radiator Questions on 88 80q

I repaired the neck last night with JBweld and a piece of 1"od 316L SS Tubing.
It is stronger than new.

My biggest question was why did this happen, so I took it to get pressure
tested today.

The pressure test came back as this- 
The radiator holds enouh pressure that it should circulate through the system
easily, however the radiator seems to be plugged because there is no flow
through the resevoir. When the pressure builds high enough, it steams through
the seams of the main radiator. There is no steaming fom the auxiulary
radiator.

He suggested that I go and get it professionally cleaned at a local radiator
shop. He says that they some how put super hot solution at a high pressure
through it.

Does this sound accurate to anyone ?

Is it worth the money ? (I'm not sure what it will cost for the cleaning.)

How much is a new radiator ?

In addition, I have no leaks into the engine oil or the spark plugs, both were
checked today by the mechanic.

In need of some good advice before I wind up with serious problems !!!!!!!!!!!
