TENTATIVE Event Schedule for MH99 (AF99-West :) (long)

In an attempt to drum up more support for including the Monterey Historics
as an "officially sanctioned" AudiFest event, I thought I'd post the current
TENTATIVE listing of the events that are being planned as part of the
Monterey Historic Automobile Races/Pebble Beach Concourse d'Elegance ... it
was put together by Mike Veglia (thanks Mike!) and is certainly still a work
in process. Some of the names and places may change, but you can see the
sorts of things that are anticipated ... I have to say that any and all
suggestions for changes and/or new events are welcome too!

> If we choose to make it a qlist event as well (AudiFest) we can certainly
> feel free to schedule other events in addition to the "official" ones
> listed here. This listing is being prepared by the group that is working
> through AQCUSA and Audi in preparation for the coming event.
>
> The biggest thing that I see that is missing is a driving event. I
> personally think that the best alternative would be to stage an autocross
> type of event at the nearby Marina airport. Thinking about it now, MH
> attracts a lot of marque clubs, and Marina is a well known venue for AX
> events around here ... this may not be as easy as I once thought. There

> would probably be available on a weekday either before or after the
> historics for a track event. I've never had anything to do with a track
> event, so I don't feel qualified to run it myself ... but then I'm

> P.S. - there are two e-mail lists that anyone wanting to keep up to date
> with the planning as it progresses might want to consider scrubsiding to
> ... first is the AF99 list, which is the list where discussions about the
> locations and events for quattro list members to get together (such as the
> Pikes Peak Hillclimb for the past two years) are discussed. The second
> list is created to be a list for San Francisco Bay Area Audi/quattro fans
> to talk about local activites, but currently this list is primarily being
> used to discuss preparations for the historics). If any of you wants
