Mark,

The problems your are describing are almost exactly the ones I described in 
december for my 90 200 tqw. I will repeat what Scott Mockrey told me: VACUUM 
LEAK VACUUM LEAK VACUUM LEAK. Turns out that Scott was dead on when he 
suggested I check the valve cover gasket (of all things) and sure enough, mine 
was old and dry and cracked (but not leaking oil!). I also had dried up 
injector air shroud seals that I replaced. Once the vacuum leaks were fixed, 
the idle co needed to be re-adjusted. The car is 90% better (thanks scott!), 
but I am still chasing down some really subtle things that are still happening.
