Diff man trans bearings

I have a 1991 200 tqw with 65000 miles on it. I have developed a noise and
vibration in the driveline. I have inspected all four wheel bearings and
shafts and can find no play or roughness. I did find up and down movement in
the left front axle flange along with some evidence of seal leakage. I removed
the flange (bolt securing it was OK) and inspected the part for damage, none
found. reassembled with new bolt and seal, drained and replaced trans fluid.
Have driven car aprox 300 miles no leak however noise and vibration getting
worse. Suspect diff bearing problem however would love any input prior to
removing trans. the noise is affected by side loading when driving. Prior
owner service records indicate 60000 service completed. thanks  Ps my 1990
