Resetting fault code memory- 93 S4
Steve,
You asked:
>fuse 26 supplies power to the fault code memory on the AAN motor,
>and should be pulled to clear persistent faults.
>Just one question- where the heck is fuse 26?
Good question! There is a 5A fuse located above the Motronic ECU, which is
in the passenger side footwell under the carpet. I assume this is the fuse
for clearing the memory, ie. fuse #26. As you found, the Bentley gives no
clue for the location of this fuse.
The Bentley does show the later 1994-95 S4/S6 uses a 5A circuit breaker
designated as #S102, instead of the 5A fuse for this ECU memory. The
Bentley shows this circuit breaker in the same location as the fuse
mentioned above.
One of the Audi Service Training books dated 3/92 designates the ECU memory
circuit breaker as # S64, and also shows it located above the Motronic ECU
I scanned in a photo I took a few months ago, showing this fuse/ circuit
breaker location.

Getting at the S4/S6 ECU under the carpet is a bit of a pain.....
