KVR pads (was urq G60 brake conversion)

Something to pass along about the KVR pads that someone might find
interesting:

The pads I installed on my A4 turboq have an operating temp of
100degrees+. Still, they don't grab as much as the factory set did.
Very much like air is in the system. Rick Schwalenberg put KVRs on his
Passat and was underwhelmed by the braking ability in traffic. He said
his brakes felt like it had air in them as well.

The factory pads were touchSTOP. The KVRs are
presspresspress-slowslowslow. Yes, the KVR withstood the tortures of a
track event. The factory pads would have been shot- as well as the
disks. BTDT.

In short- the KVR carbon mets are OK for city driving, but will
withstand near-racing conditions.

Another word-o-warning:
During the pre-Christmas ice storms in the south, my disks and pads
cooled off during the hours long 80mph runs and were reduced to approx
25% braking ability.
Try that when exiting @ 60mph.
