Upper Radiator Hose - 5K Series

Hi All:

Is the upper radiator hose on a normally aspirated 5K the same dimension
as that of a turbo - with the obvious exception of the grafted hose.
I'm asking because when my radiator goes I would like to get one of
the Modine all metal ones and have them solder an outlet the same size
as that of the auxiliary coolant pump.  Me thinks this would be a more
robust design as I always get some wicking of coolant through the fibers
- presumably resulting from a poor graft.

Thoughts?
