92 Audi 100S - does your car have this short connector??

     Hi Elliot & list,

I was pulling the trouble codes for an intermittent emissions
light. No trouble doing that (2411, probably related to the loose
EGR hose to the airbox I found a week ago). The thing of it is,
when I went to pull the codes, there was a short wire connection
between DLC1 and DLC2. It appeared to be a stock part, but I
pulled it out and put it down so that I could jumper the pins from
DLC1 to DLC2 to get the blink codes. I wasn't able to find the
wire when I went to put the cover back on the relay panel. The
Audi dealer lists this connecting wire as "No Longer Available" and
says that Audi doesn't recommend clearing the codes this way, use
the 1551 (read $$$$). I just want to have the car back to the way
it was before I tried to pull the codes. Do you have a 12v with
this connector? Could you ohm it out to tell me what is connected
to what between DLC1 and DLC2? What is this "jumper" wire's
     purpose?

     Regards,
     Karl

P.S. I did check the 12V pages but this stock DLC1 to DLC2
     connecting wire wasn't mentioned.

You can look at www.12v.org under the maintenance section, under
HowTo's and it will show you which connectors to use--you can just
get a scrap of wire or something.
However I don't think that this will help you with your alarm
problem--the blink codes won't say anything about that.
Probably some sensor got misaligned and that's causing your alarm
     to go bonkers.
