btw, my AAA safe driver school (don't ask) teacher, who was a really
cool guy and a good teacher, let on that he (almost) always drives 5 mph
over the speed limit.  I've found around ten is the threshold for being
stopped and warned - under 10 over and I'm safe, 10-15 will draw
attention.  Over that and I get excessively paranoid... but the car
feels great!

Of course, a warning, while being free, still wastes enough time to
eradicate several months worth of saved time from that extra few mph.

unrelated PS:

I flashed what I thought was a vehicle with unnecessarily obnoxious
driving lights today, turned out to be a adnoH being tailgated by a pick
up truck.  Oh well.
