"Goldies" used to have this a loooong time ago, a friend
of mine even made the cover of a UK auto rag at that
time, when he managed to tie a complete Porsche aircooled
engine around his neck and carry it across the "finish
line". I think it was $25 for anything you could physically
carry across the finish line without touching the ground.
His rationalization at the time was that a Hernia would
be covered by his hospital insurance while the cost of
a cracked case in his Porsche was not.....
There was a yard in Middleboro on the Bridgewater line
that was very reasonable, a U-pick-it type operation
where they didn't even ask you what the parts were
off. I'll be in the area next month, I'll check to
see if they're still there.
I doubt any "all you can carry" days still exist, or any
U-pick-it yards for that matter. We can thank the
lawyers and insurance companies for closing one more
avenue of affordable parts. It'll all be "stand behind
the yellow line while I check" soon enough. Makes me
as mad as a "ecological automotive recycling facility"
dog.....
