Re: unsprung weight (of tires)

FYI, regarding tire weights, here is some interesting info I pulled off
of Dunlop's website. What I find particularly interesting is that the
A4 OEM sport-package tire weighs 2.6 lbs. LESS than the standard
205/55-16 SP8000 sold by Dunlop.

Dunlop SP9000 215/50-15 20.7 lbs.
                   205/55-16 21.4 lbs.
                   225/50-16 23.4 lbs.
                   215/45-17 21.2 lbs.
		   235/40-17 22.7 lbs.

Dunlop SP8000 215/50-15 n/a lbs.
                   205/55-16 23.4 lbs.
		   205/55-16 91W 20.8 lbs. (Audi A4 OEM) <---<
                   225/50-16 26.0 lbs.
                   215/45-17 24.4 lbs.
		   235/40-17 n/a lbs.

Dunlop D60A2 205/60-15 20.0 lbs.
		   205/55-16 21.7 lbs.
		   225/50-16 25.1 lbs.

Dunlop W-10 205/55-16 21.8 lbs.
		   215/45-17 22.0 lbs.
		   235/40-17 24.2 lbs.

So, for the urquattro at least, a 215/45-17 tire appears to weigh about
1/2 of a pound more than a 215/50-15 for the SP9K series. It also seems
that the 16" tires (excepting the Audi OEM SP8K) weigh slightly more
than the 215/45-17, which may be a consideration for those deciding
between 16" versus 17" wheels.
