RE: 5 cyl timing belt questions




Just a data point-------

The two vehicles I took apart which I'm 99.9% sure were virgin had the
green gunk _only_ on the pulley flange and the bolt head.

I just remembered I also had to scramble to find the blue locktite on
the tips of the screws for the cover.

    p.s. I may have the colors reversed.

The dealer could order a tube of the AMV 188 001 02 but it was
expensive and I don't think that is what they used.
