Thanks for the long, detailed writeup... everything is true except that
the two-door 4000 was offered in the U.S. clear up to the 1984 model year,
in FWD only.  The 1984 4000S FWD, both 2-door and 4-door had the 1.8 liter
88hp engine with CIS-E.  The 84 (and later) 4000S quattro was only
available with 4-doors.
