re: PIAA Lights
>From the experiences of others, the PIAA Superwhites (and Plasma Blues)
are not worth the $40/ea that is being charged.
They have a very short life. They are no where near the claimed output
intensity, and they loose a great deal of output due to the bulb coating
used to make the bulb whiter.
The bulb that is considered best on the market is the Philiips Premium.
They are availible in H1 and H4 for C$16/ea (US$11/ea). If you really need
that white/blue look, Philips also sells the Bluevision that is the same
bulb with a coating. Philips also makes the Allweather that uses a coating
to make the light yellowish (for better poor weather visibility).
I bought a set of Premiums from PG-Performance (www.pgperformance.com) in
Vancouver. Unfortunately, I can't report how they are as it turns out my
S4 does not use H1s (dispite the owner's manual claim). I think the
Premiums were listed off the "Car Care" link on the page. PG Performance's
owner is a real Audi nut, and carries a great deal of imported stuff.
