Re: Clutch Sounds in 4KQ



Sounds like it could be the clutch throw-out bearing to me. Possibly the
throw-out arm broke a flang, as well.   A similar thing happened on my
`82 Coupe when I first bought it.  It seems a seal went bad and the
bearing lost most of it's lubricant.  The only problems I encountered
before I lost the clutch was a clicking sound everytime it was depressed.
 I don't know how expensive the bearing is, but the arm was around $82
and the seal was $75, back in 1995.  (Those are dealer prices.)  Check to
see what the others on the list say:  they're a bit more mechanically
inclined.
