That's the "Stair Step" acceleration. Its like they had fuel delivery
ranges, and did not extrapolate between them. Ned from Intended
Acceleration told me that the chip smoothens that out. I'm thinking
about buying one. My V8's hesitation problem got better when I used
some injector cleaner, and it got better on the drive home from picking
it up when I filled it up with premium fuel. I suspect that the
previous owner used regular gas. It still does it occasionally though,
and sometimes it seems like I'm losing about 50 hp.

Mine idles great. It starts very well, and idles very smoothly and steadily.
