Yes, it could cause serious vacuum leak at low rpms as well as cause the
engine to run extremely rich (and possibly overspinning the turbo) at WOT.
My advice: go to the nearest electric store and buy some self-amalgamating
tape. Wrap the hose with this stuff and it should temporarily do the trick.
