problems with 192K '87 Coupe GT? advice please

Hey guys - I looked at a pretty nice GT today - with 192K.  It apparentley was
an early 87 - the spoiler is black (car is repainted metallic blue which was
original color) and it has drums and the 2.22.  Light grey interior, overall -
it seemed nice.  Some issues I'm asking about - It has the digital dash, which
seems to function ok (has computer too)  experiences or worries with this
dash?  I had an analogue in my 86.  Next, oil temp reading is very high
(although car had just been started for first time in month)  Sending Unit?
It has the same oil temp setup as my 4000CSQ.  Next, the engine seems to tick
rather loudly (again, I am somewhat used to this, although this tack seems
relativly loud) and there is light smoke and smell, when the fan turns on a
terrific cloud of smoke comes out of engine bay.  Now, my 86 smoked a little
when I first started it after sitting, but the cloud effect was something new.
It did not particualrly smell like anitfreeze OR oil.  Engine idles and revs
fine.  Basically, I would be buying this car or one similar to drive for the
next few years as an everyday car and track car every so often.  If I need to
do some work, so be it. Sorry for long message - should I pass by this car?
It seems well taken care of and the price is right...
