Re: 4kq diff seals... (fwd)



Overfilling of tranny--> oil leakage. Hmmm. I had just been thinking about
this as the possible reason that my '921 200q tranny seems to have started
a new (slow) leak soon after I replaced a final-drive oil seal.

When I refilled the tranny, I used the "fill-to-overflow" method that the
Bentley states is "acceptable". However, since the car was not level at the
time, it is probable that the actual oil level is *higher* than that. So,
can I assume (hope?) such a leak will stop once the level comes down a bit?

What's that saying? "Hope drips eternal."
