Thanks to _everyone_ who responded - about 12 in all, odd little details
in each.  It felt kinda weird belting seven shades of sh1t out of a
poor little 4mm Allen socket, but it worked on both valves without
damage.  Amazin'.

The front portion of the pump is now stripped and cleaned.  I'm glad I
pulled the check valves - lot of gunge in there.
