Re: return of stolen audi

Re: liability when loaning cars...

I have had two cars registered and insured in my name that were crashed and
totaled in CA by "friends" driving them with my permission. (First was a 68
2002 in 1986, second was an 86 CGT in 1991.)

In both cases the accidents _did not_ go on my driving record since I was not
present at either accident.

On both occasions I did have to change insurance companies because they did
want to surcharge me for the accidents (both single car, "driver error"). Upon
changing insurance companies all was good again.

So, if you are really happy with your insurance company then maybe this would
be a worry, but the way I see it there are many more insurers out there to
choose from ;-)

What applies here in CA may very well differ in other areas. Best to check
with your insurance carrier if you are concerned. HTH
