Bond and the 200TQ
First let me say I have not seen every Bond movie, but I think the movie was
"For Your Eyes Only," with the guy that played Bond right after Roger Moore,
but before the current guy. I can't remember his name, but he was my least
favorite Bond. Anyway, it's the one where they try to help a Russian defect
and it turns out it's all a trick and Bond ends up with the guys
mistress/girlfriend who plays the cello and they chase him over an arms deal
he's trying to make with some guy that has a house full of model soldiers
and battles. Anyway, back to Audi content. Bond drives a very cool Silver
200TQ in the first part of the movie, but it's night and the "getaway" scene
is very short and the only other shot of him with the car is going through
the Austrian border (or one of the borders) and again, it's brief and at
night. Later in the movie he does appear driving either a 5K Wagon or a 100
Wagon in "normal" trim. And, as other listers have pointed out Bullit (yes,
that's the correct spelling) has a great chase scene. Other than the muscle
car vs. Porsche content (yes, I'm a Porschephile) it's better than "No Mans
Land." Of course, I've watched both movies only for the chase scenes. My
wife was given strict instructions this morning to return tonight with a
copy of Ronin. After this and the long thread on it on the Porsche list, I
have got to see it.
Sorry for the long bandwidth,
Samuel
