melting head light switch

 I have an 86 4KQ , I put higher wattage bulbs in
ithe head lights and the wiring around the head
light
connector started to darken, I assume from high
heat. I had only noticed the darkening wires
because
the bulbs were going out slowly. I put the
original bulbs back in and they worked. Now the
front marker lights come on when I step on the
brake peddle. The brake lights are on full power
(as if the brake peddle was depressed) when I turn
the head lights on.Also the head light switch is
melting at the red wire lead. I have replaced the
switch, but the new switch has started to melt. The
voltage at the melting red wire is 11.4. I don't
have a wiring diagram and I don't want to pay some
mechanic to case wire just to tell me he cann't
find the problem. Help! Dan
