Hmmm, read this one and couldn't help but wonder how long you've been on
the list. Don't get me wrong, I'm no ancient here...but it doesn't take
long.

It doesn't take long to recognize that there is a WEALTH of information on
this list. There are incredible quattro experts, amazing audi experts, and
experts on things you couldn't even begin to imagine!

True, this list is a 'quattro' list, but starting up a FWD only list would
mean that some guys wouldn't be there. I wasn't going to name names, but
just off the top of my head:

I haven't met anyone who's faster at getting a part number out then Phil
Payne. Gee, I could email him from the counter at the local dealer, wait
for it to go over and Phil reply, and it would STILL be on my computer
before the parts guy figured out what fiche it was! And his knowledge of
the engines! Wow!  Hmmm, I think you'd find most of those engines in q's
and non-q's!

Ti Kan's 4k is a quattro...does that mean he isn't an expert on non-q 4k's?
Heck no!  Man, I'll bet that guy could tear into a non-q (and know what
he's doing) faster then a football team at a buffet. If I ever bought a 4k
(and I'm thinking about it) I'd want the likes of Ti around a list to help
me...

Huw! He knows sooo much about the electrics of the audi's it's scary (I
suspect he may actually be a former engineer...but that's my own opinion!)
What happens if us quattro owners lose him to a FWD list?  Where would we
go when our window switches die?!

But it's not just about audi's.  There's a lister in Toronto who works in
automotive paints...hmmm, thinking about a paint-job.  Apparently at least
one lister works at Microsoft, another works in the macintosh field...I've
got access to a burner, someone makes audi ring decals (such as seen on the
sides of Ur-q's). Everyone seems to add a certain spunk to the list that
would be horrible to lose.

Finally (for this email anyways) Dan runs this list like no other!  The guy
puts in so much time and effort, and it shows (by the way Dan, I'm
recieving some messages in duplicate again!). If the other lists I'm on let
through three times the spam this list ocassionally gets, I'd STILL be
getting less through them!  Not to mention the vendor list, for sale pages,
and the archives!

Okay sure, some days (most) I really don't have time to sort through the
number of messages this list generates.  True, sometimes I feel like we
should get rid of all the non-audi stuff...but in truth that's partially
what makes this list fun! We all know a heck of a lot more about each other
(in fact, sometimes it's kinda scary), adds to the list I think.

So _I_ say, start your little lists if you want...but I'm staying right
here.  I was here when I owned a honda.  I'm here while I own nothing
(squatter's rights on my mom's audi??).  And I'll be here after the next
car I buy...even if it isn't an audi! Why, becuase the wealth of knowledge
(audi, quattro, non-quattro, and OTHER) here is too good to give up.

know them). I submit unrelated stuff...i read unrelated stuff.  I enjoy.
Start your own list...I'm staying here.
