The speedo sender is a magnetic reed type. It closes and opens the
circuit when wheel rotates. I ran a magnet over the end of the sender
with a ohm meter attached to the two pins. I did not see closing of the
circuit. I pulled the top off the sender and there was a coiled wire
with a reed switch from one of the pins. It was about 3" long and
looped back to the other pin. At the bottom of the loop it was broken.
I soldered the broken end together and put the sender back together. I
tested it with a magnet again and the circuit closed each time I passed
a magnet over it. Hopefully my speedo will work now.
