On the contrary, I think it would be great if this were true ... hmm, let's
try this:

"Earlier today, Ned Ritchie called and begged to sell me "The Beast" for
$5,000 and quickly agreed to let me write him an I.O.U. when I explained that
I was a little short on cash."

"Frank Beddor called and said he was tired of his red Sport Q and agreed to
take my '89 200q in trade. for it."

That should do for now, don't you think?  ;^)
