Re: S4 -
That's the one! I REALLY wanted that car..
You can't really go wrong with any Audi as long as it's been maintained
consistently and properly. The condition of the car really has nothing to
do with the mileage --IMO. This rings true for most German cars. I've
seen some 1-owner Mercedes Benz's with 200K+ miles that look and drive like
they were fresh from a showroom.
I purchased my first quattro from European Engineering (4KSq), and at the
time they were under different management. Toni, the tech guy, was working
in the back at the time and another guy ran the company. His name was Mike.
I didn't have a great experience with EE -- in fact, I never took the car
back there for service.
However, from what I understand -- Toni the 'tech' is now the owner. Toni
REALLY knows what he's doing (IMO) -- and I would probably buy a car from
EE now that he is the owner or manager.
Good luck with the car -- I think you made a great decision. If worse
comes to worse -- you put $5K into the car over the next year or so.. It
will last a long time. I will continue to look for an S4 -- preferably
pearl like that one - and with low-mid mileage. If anyone's listening and
wants to sell their S4 -- respond!
