RE: A4 1.8T

interesting....

audi in nz sold the mtm upgrade kits for the 1.8t in the a4 for the last 3
years. all the way up to the 286hp conversion.

they were all sold without voiding the audi factory warranty. i have not
heard of any problems, there is at least 1 nz lister (greg) driving around
in a 210hp mtm-tuned a4q.

however, it is noticable that while the 180hp 1.8 simply as an intercooler
and higher boost pressure, the 225hp 1.8t has forged pistons, different rods
and stronger big-end bearings, as well as the dual intercoolers. and the
satic cr is down to 8.9:1, whereas the 20v i5t could run a static cr of
9.3:1, even the rs2 was 9:1...
