I believe the rule of thumb for accumulators is 1/2 the working/system
pressure.  At 1/2 the system pressure you will have the same volumn on
both sides of the diaphram. 

When I just recharged mine to 1000psi I had exactly 30 pedal pumps
before I lost assist - indicating a 100% volumn in the bomb.
