I was using 15x7 37mm offset with 205/50-15 and occasionally rubbing front
(?!) and rear under hard cornering on uneven surface. This even with all
four fender lips rolled. Have not had this problem with the 16x7.5 35 offset
with 215/40-16 even though I know I'm taking the same corners faster. This
setup is marginally wider and shorter.
(btw - these cars really need a front strut brace for this kind of driving;
mine's going on once the battery is moved).

I was in Montana last July on my K1100RS motorcycle (still for sale btw).
Actually found lots of great roads in Montana - from Missoula into Idaho,
near Glacier, and just north of Yellowstone. Also, went up to Calgary,Banff,
etc and returned through your area, northern Idaho. Some of the best roads
were in B.C. just north of the Idaho border. Wasn't about to fly through
there though - mucho wildlife and cops.
