RE: Roll bar for Ur-Q?

I had a new and unused bolt-in rollcage for a Coupe/Ur-Q that I threw away --
Yes, threw away! -- last fall, when I moved into a new house. It wasn't SCCA
legal -- the mounting plates were too small and too thin -- and I figured that
if I ever put a 'cage in my Ur-Q, then I'd do it right and have one custom-
made and welded in. Around here, I can have a basic/functional one built in a
week's time for about $600 and $12-1500 will buy you one a fancy one. In my
opinion, this isn't the best place to save money and so far as I'm concerned,
a welded-in cage is definitely the way to go. Frankly, bolt-in cages are for
boy racers ... does anyone remember "Get a grip on my boy-racer rollbar" from
the Queen song, "I'm in love with my car"?

Anyway, this one had been built by Dave Klym at FABCAR (Yes, *that* one!) and
P.A.P. had a few leftover ones they sold off cheaply -- $250, as I recall! --
a couple of years ago. It was said to be built for an 80 but I think that was
an error since it fit my Ur-Q almost perfectly ... oh, well.
