Of course, the fact that Peyote grows wild in the desert around here may be a
factor as well ... frankly, I hope they get it since I'm tired of people
making jokes about Audi's historical rate of depreciation.

This past weekend, one of my neighbors told me they bought a new 5kt in June
of 1996 and put $10,000 down it.  Nine months and 8k later, a car ran a
stoplight and totalled it.  Despite a protracted argument with the insurance
companies on both sides, their settlement was still $3k short of paying off
the balance due on their loan ... it's also the reason they won't ever
consider buying another Audi, no matter how good the cars may be.
