RE:The Bomb

If you get less than 10 pumps your bomb is marginal. ZERO pumps I would
say it is dead.

Doesn't your brake warning light come on??? It may have been
disconnected. It is a pressure switch up under the brake master
cyclinder with two wires going to it. You can try shorting leads
together to see if circuit is O.K.

Yes, the issue is stopping with a dead engine or multiple application of
the brakes during a panic/emergency stop. I have been driving about 6
months with "zero pumps". Does not seem to affect braking too much.

I do notice a little firmer pedal with a good bomb. With a bad bomb I
could feel alot of minor pedal fluctuations like the pumps pressure
fluctuations were felt in the pedal. Now those are gone.

I'm surprise you have not had the light come on or lost power assist at
any of the track events!!!!

Mike asked:
Ok, so all this talk about recharging bombs made me take notice of my
own. I get exactly 0, as in zero pumps! I assume that it is not
working=) My big question, is this a problem?? The car seems to run
great and I love the brake pedal feel. I do not leak any pentosin at
all. Is this something that only becomes an issue if the car stalls so
that you can easily stop it? Chances are I have been driving like this
for the past 80K miles including lots of track events. I use Pagid rs4
pads and SS lines, it stops great. If I replace it will I loose my nice
firm pedal feel??
