	I am new to the list and have gained quite a bit of knowledge on all Audi's.
I am watching this thread with great interest because I am looking at
purchasing an A4 1.8T Quattro after I complete my mechanical engineering
degree at NJIT.  One thing I must point out and I believe the TAP website will
back me up on this but I believe the stance that VW is taking on modified cars
and refusing to cover them under warranty is illegal.  As I understand it, it
is up to VWoA to prove that the modifications are what caused the failure and
that the warranting company must bare the burden of proof that the
modification did indeed cause the part to fail.  
	If I am wrong please correct me.  I do know that VW has been going to drag
strips to get the VIN's off of cars that are racing to void the warrantee
since racing is one of the things that voids VW 100k mile warrantee.  IMHO if
you are stupid enough to think a VW is made for drag racing you deserve what
you get in this case.
