New 99.5 a lil long

Just curious if anyone else out there has test driven the newly designed A4's.
I went down to the dealer today and they had a base 1.8 in stock. It was a
fun car to drive, but it seemed that it was not up to par to my own A4(96). I
heard the engine(which is nice when a deep sound six or eight, but a little
whinny four) and the outside noise bled through) more than in mine. Also it
seemed more cramped(cannot figure this one out). I know they are the same,
but has anyone else who has compared the 1.8 to the 2.8(old or new), noticed
any differences.
Just curious
oh by the way the interior trim of the carbon fiber looked quite cheap when
compared to the wood grain. Other than that, the interior knobs and
controls(except for the upper controls found on the headliner, the sunrrod and
lights remind me of being built of cheap components and do not look right
and the visor mirrors are 1/2 the size)american do look better even though
they are designed to be more compact. The lighter is really cool though, it
is where the cup holders were and it rotates out when pushed on. All in all
it is not a bad car, but I think when I go to retier this A4, the A6 will be
the replacement( As long as the v8 is available w/ 5 or 6spd{stateside})
