I also have a real-world example. When one of my 80/100 H4 bulbs 
went out, I replaced both with 55/60W (all I could find locally). 
I couldn't really tell much of a difference on low beam. The most 
noticeable change was in the amount of light reflected back from 
road signs. The 80W bulbs, combined with the Euro upsweep, made 
the glare from reflective signs almost uncomfortable. I like the 
55W lows, but I miss the drama of the 100W highs, so I think I'll 
mail order some 55/100W'ers.
