'93 Audi 100Q/2.8 12v auto - can it be made to go?
Dear Qlist,
As I look for a quattro of reasonable size/affordability
in this country - with a very limited range of choices of
Quattros, the best buy seems to be a '93 Audi 100 quattro,
which is only available with the 4 speed slush box.
Driving a couple of these, I am depressed by their lack
of performance (they have the 2.8l V6 12 valve engine).
I don't require the 300 HP + you guys out there seem to
regard as normal, but something close to 140 kW or 200 hp
would seem a reasonable target - so that I'd at least
match the performance of my current 200T (FWD/Slush) with
its late MC engine.
Question: Is it feasible to get this level of performance
without drastic mods (like fitting superchargers/turbos.)?
I have in mind cams, chips, exhaust, throttle bodies.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
