Hello Gentlemen

I had lots of pentosin escaping via the hydraulic reservoir cap switch on my
86 5ktqw, and having access to some used pumps, decided to try them before
tackling the rack.  The pump in the car was a "red tag" and it had been
there for a good 7 years.  When I replaced it with a used "red tag" pump,
the problem remained (perhaps a bad used pump).  I then replaced that one
with a "green tag" pump, the problem has gone away, but the steering is much
stiffer.  Question, please, are there differences between red and green
tagged pumps, and am I just masking the problem (a bad rack, maybe) because
I'm using a pump that generates less pressure.  Any response would be much
appreciated.
