I should add a comment for the archives - there are _TWO_ different
versions of the smoked rear glass for the ur-quattro.  The later one
uses _two_ twin filament bulbs for the stop and tail lights, and is
incompatible with the 'old' bulb holder.  So if you upgrade a clear
or early smoked car to late smoked, you need to replace the bulb holder
as well.  Upgrading clear to early smoked retains the bulb holder.

Don't believe the VIN breaks, either.  I've seen TWO 1988 cars ('J')
with single bulb lights, even though they were illegal by then and
all post-'G' cars are supposed to have two bulbs each side.
