i would posit that you are correct in a static and linear system and this
is neither. the area and shape of the surface that interacts with the tire
can change with normal forces. in addition, there are temperature-related
nonlinearities on cf and there is the difference between static and dynamic
friction to consider and how these are affected by forces on the tire.
